Over the years I have found it to be very useful to write poems for specific occasions. The one here was written for a memorial service I conducted for a 23 year-old woman who died of cancer, . . . more

"Cold, indeed! Hard work, too. It's not easy holding a pose for a substantial amount of time. Plus, I always took the job seriously, and mit was hard to think up new ways of posing." more

Chris, thanks so much for the comment , i love that song .
Love and marriage is tricky business that's for sure , i look at it as wisdom i gained over the years to keep warm in the old years ...
like yeats said :
WHEN you are old and gray and full of sleep
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

No symbolism, no metaphor no simile it was there because it chose to be there

Chris, No I was not aware of that poem. Thank you for sharing it! The Trane was amazing! You may be disappointed, but I must admit a weakness for My Favorite Things. I don't have any of his music right now that I can play. I have records, but they are in storage and no working record player. I am also on a very tight budget so only get a little music every month. Ex: This month I went overboard and got three best of CD's - S&G, Creedence and Donovan (Catch The Wind gives me the chills). Also connection is to slow to listen online, hopefully that will change soon. But, I can hear him in my head, and he is beautiful. Chana

Since you seem to enjoy taking standard myths and tales and giving them a tweak ;), I think you'll enjoy this excerpt from my upcoming rewriting of the Eden story from Eve's POV ;)
